Phoenix Rising FC on Thursday announced it has parted ways with interim head coach Diego Gomez, who was the team’s third head coach since January.
Gomez, who joined Rising FC’s staff on Feb. 6 after Danny Stone took over as head coach, led the 2023 USL Championship league champion Rising to a 5-3-9 record, including last Sunday’s 2-1 playoff loss at New Mexico United. Rising FC was in ninth place when Gomez took over and finished eighth, qualifying for the postseason.
